BIXI LIN is a Ph.D. student at Hanyang University, South Korea. Obtained a bachelor’s degree from Xiangtan University, Hunan, China, majoring in Art Design. During her undergraduate study, she studied ceramic design at the National University of Korea as an exchange student. During the four-year undergraduate study, she obtained the postgraduate exam exemption qualification with excellent grades and received a full scholarship to continue her master’s degree. Obtained a master’s degree from Xiangtan University in Hunan, China, majoring in Art and Culture Application Design.

Her design works during her graduate school have won many national awards and have been published in key Chinese journals. She not only learned graphic design, but also classical oil painting and Tempera techniques. During her postgraduate studies, she also participated in several traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage projects with her tutor. Not only can she work independently, but she can also work hand in hand with others. She has a strong team spirit and a sense of collective honor. She believes that design is a process from problem definition to problem-solving. The design is not limited to the beautification of the shape of the object, but the process of transforming the functionality into the concrete image. She believes that interdisciplinary learning ability is very important. Designers must not only learn design itself but also need to master history, mathematics, materials, and even science in order to make better works.
