Marta Madureira is a teacher and an illustrator. She works as Assistant Professor at the School of Design at IPCA – Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, teaching in areas related to image and audiovisual, and as director of the Master in Illustration and Animation. She graduated in Graphic Design and a Master in Image Design at the Fine Arts School of Oporto University.

She is a recognized illustrator with several relevant awards. She worked, researched, and published around 30 books in the illustration sphere since 2002. Her research interests are in the image field, stopped or moving, related to some of these topics: narrative and illustration; illustration as a communication tool; picture books; different formats of printed image books; the not so traditional, different, and renovated supports for illustration; and the transition from illustration to the animated image.

As a collaborator, she is a member of ID+ – The Research Institute for Design, Media, and Culture, in the CAOS Group – Communication, Art, Object and Synergies. In addition, she is a member of CONFIA – International Conference on Illustration and Animation.
