John T. Drew is the Executive Director and Founder of the Innovation Center for Design Excellence and a Graphic and Interactive Design professor at California State University Fullerton (CSUF). His university has recognized him on 13 occasions for his teaching, research, and writing. He is the editor and contributing author of the Innovation Center for Design Excellence: Case Studies on Accessible and Universal Design (ICDE 2022) and the  Principal Investigator for the Innovation Center for Design Excellence: White Paper for App Visual Accessibility (ICDE 2020); the co-author of the Acuity Color Matching System (Rotovision 2005), Color Management: A Comprehensive Guide for Graphic Designers (Rotovison 2005, Allworth Press 2012); Color Management for Logos (Rotovision 2006); Color Management for Package Design (Rotovision 2008); and Choosing Color for Logos & Packaging: Solutions for 2D & 3D Designs (Rotovision 2009). His books have been translated and published in nine foreign languages. Professor Drew is the co-editor of Design Education in Progress: Process and Methodology (CDSCAD- Virginia Commonwealth University Press), and he is on the editorial board of directors for Designed Behaviors, an international design journal published by Kyunggido: Design Research and Education Lab, South Korea. Professor Drew is a lead visiting evaluator for the National Association of Art Schools and Design (NASAD). NASAD is a university and college accrediting body. Professor Drew has been a consultant for the South Korean Ministry of Transportation, Meadow River Enterprises, and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to develop new regulations for signage systems, including low-light signage systems for use by the United States National Park. Professor Drew holds a U.S. patent for The Effects of Distance, Typographic Form, Color, and Motion on 20/20 Vision and is a Society for Environmental Graphic Design Educational Foundation International Grant recipient. He has written for Messages, Thysse, AIArchitect, ACSAnews, Design Education In Progress: Process and Methodology, Volumes 1, 2, and 3; Revival of The Fittest: Digital Versions of Classic Typefaces; Why Design?; The Proceedings of The Hanyang International Design Conference, Journal for the Hanyang International Design Conference, Identity Systems; United Designs: Graphic Design Practices & Education; and Y Tristimulate Your Colors; Paper, ICO-D. His design work, teaching, and writing have been recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, The Art Directors Club, the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, The Society for Technical Communication, NightLine: NBC News, Grafik, Grafik Magazine, UK, @cturs Graphiques, FR, Creation, FR, and L’ Argus de la presse, FR. He is a lifetime honorary member of The Korea Brand Identity Association. He has been a guest speaker for numerous events, including the International Council of Communication Design (ICO-D) Design Week in Daegu, South Korea. He has been an internal book reviewer for Laurence King Publishing Ltd., London, UK, and RotoVision Books, London, UK.
