Dr. Albert Young Choi is the Founding President and Emeritus President of the United Designs Alliance (UDA), a global design organization. He is also an Honorary Professor at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) in China, and Ambassador of Innovation Center for Design Excellence (ICDE) in the USA, and a professor of Brand Design at Hanyang University ERICA Campus (HYU ERICA) in Korea. He was the Associate Vice President of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the Dean for the Institute of International Education (IIE) at HYU ERICA. Albert has taught at the University of North Texas, and California State University Fullerton in the Visual Communication Design. Before becoming an educator, he was a creative director at Choi & Concept Design In Los Angeles, and a designer at COY Los Angeles, a prolific graphic design firm. He completed and succeeded in many design projects for the regional, national, and global consumers in the USA, Korea, and China.
His areas of expertise include design research on Brand Design and Experience Design. Another side of his specialty is analyzing and making visual languages & cultures through collaborating designs and strategies in conjunction with practical and experimental projects. Also, he is the author of ‘Hangeul-Gak,’ a personal collection, and Hangeul experimental typography. He completed a National Research Project, ‘National Standard Street Name Sign and Building Number Sign System,’ in conjunction with the New National Address System. He wrote two books, ‘Brand Design: Communication Design for Branding’ and ‘Culture Code Brand Design Methodology (CCBD).’ Many international design competitions and organizations recognize him. His designs are permanent collections of the US Library of Congress.
