Albert Young Choi is the founder and president emeritus of the United Designs Alliance (UDA), an international design association. He is a professor of brand design and experience design at Hanyang University’s ERICA campus. He taught brand design and experience design as a professor at Hanyang University. He held significant administrative positions, including the associate vice president of the international affairs office and the dean of the International Institute of Education. He has also been appointed an honorary professor at Shanghai Normal University in China. Before his academic endeavors, Albert gained practical experience as a designer at COY Los Angeles and later founded his design firm, Choi & Concept Design, in Los Angeles. His professional work spans local, national, and global projects in the United States, Korea, and China, contributing to his reputation as a versatile and influential designer. As an author, Albert has contributed to the design field through several noteworthy publications, including “Brand Design: Communication Design for Branding,” “Culture Code Brand Design Methodology,” “Basic Principles of Visual Communication,” and “Design Conceptor: How to Develop Creative Concepts for Problem-Solving.” His research interests have led him to undertake a National Research Project on the “National Standard Street Name Sign and Building Number Sign System.”

Additionally, Dr. Choi has explored Hangeul typography’s aesthetic and practical applications in his book “Hangeul-Gak” and has designed original typefaces for various design projects. Dr. Choi’s work in analyzing and studying visual language and culture through strategic design has been recognized by leading international design organizations, marking him as a significant contributor to the design field. His expertise spans BX, XD, UI/UX, IxD, Design Thinking, Public Design, Typography, Culture Codes, and Color, making him a notable figure in academic and professional design communities.
