UDA Biannual Int’l Design Research Journal

Submit before Monday, September 2, 2024

The Design Behaviors journal aims to establish a standard research methodology and terminology for all design disciplines.

The design is influenced by nature and the environment, shaping our understanding of our place in nature and the environment. It profoundly impacts our conscious and unconscious decisions, influencing what we know, what we buy, where we go, why we act, and reflecting our current position and future direction. Design can convey ideas of sustainability or transience based on its function and message, and it is perceived and interpreted through the five senses (sight, touch, taste, smell, and sound), as well as our emotions and concepts. Design is an intrinsic part of our identity, shaped by natural processes and intellectual endeavors such as theories and methodologies, defining the aesthetics and functionality of forms.

Design is not just art or science; it combines both, often called ‘Art and science.’ This has increased global recognition of the design field in graduate and Ph.D. programs. Our profession aims to develop and unify research methods and terminology within the design field, supported by selective programs worldwide. The Design Behaviors Journal seeks to share innovative and practical research methods globally to advance and unite the design discipline.
