Yiorgos Tsangaris

Yiorgos Tsangaris studied graphic arts at the London institute/the London college of printing and animation at the bristol school of animation of the university of the west of England.

Since 1999 he works as a freelance graphic artist. He has designed covers for book publications in Greece and he has supervised many other editorials in Cyprus. He has also designed many posters and forms for the theatre and the independent cinema and he has shaped the press aesthetic of the daily publication of the “politis” newspaper in Cyprus. He has represented Cyprus at biennales and other interna­tional presentations with his graphic work and in addition, he has taken part in group printmaking exhibitions in Cyprus and Greece.

He was awarded the greek graphic arts and illustration award: “evge” for the design of a book’s cover and with praise for a poster’s design. Occasionally he was invited as well to many artistic critical committees.

With the collaboration of the “thessaloniki documentary festival” and the “hambis school – museum of printmaking” he founded the “inter­national film festival of documentary and animated films views of the world”. Yiorgos is also a founding member and vice-president of the “hambis school – museum of printmaking”.
