My work covers two areas of design practice; client-driven and personal work in typeface design. My typeface design work explores the intersection of type and image. Inspired by visual culture and historical research of Italian-derived themes, I create typefaces that engage past and present in a visual dialogue. What results is an encapsulation of historical nuances into the essence of my work.
The work I do in service of clients focuses on service to the greater good. I am passionate about environmental protection and social justice, and I strive to find ways that my abilities as a designer can further these efforts.
I am a full-time faculty member at Fitchburg State University in the Communication Media Department, I hold an MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design. Since 2003 I have taught design in the US, Italy, China, and Korea.
