Revive.
We have come a long way and still have a long way to go. 2021 brought the continuation of the struggle through the pandemic. We have all responded and adjusted as necessary and possible, as we have tried to grasp the magnitude of what we face and the recovery that lies ahead.
But a daunting challenge can serve as an impetus for clarifying what is meaningful and fulfilling in life. Community, relationships, engagement, cooperation, and creativity are some of those things—each of which the United Design Alliance sustains. Some parts of life that have laid dormant as we forge ahead are returning. Humanity—revealed and promoted by graphic designers who visualize it—is being revived.
United. Towards Restoration and Renewal.
As a testament to the agility and momentum of the UDA, regular programming has resolutely continued through this period. Our organization enthusiastically hosted the 10th United Designs Biennial and the 6th Global Visual Culture Symposium virtually for the first time. We persist and progress at a time when our students, educators, and professional members crave the strong sisterhood and brotherhood we have built together. UDA looks forward to maintaining and further developing our connections in the coming years as we support each other toward restoration and renewal.
