Hope.
2020 has been a year like no other. While the worst pandemic to face our species in a century spread across the globe, communities grappled with fear, containment, response, suffering, decline, and uncertainty. The most vulnerable have been the worst affected. We don’t know what comes next, but we know we must trust each other and act to ensure the global population’s health and safety. We have been promised a vaccine, and we all hope for a return to normal. Yet we also ask, “what will that normal be?”
The discord that tinges much of life is in stark contrast to the harmony that exists through UDA.
United. Towards recovery and progress.
Especially in 2020—throughout the pandemic—United Designs Alliance has been a lifeline to the international web of design that we are each a vital part of. The UDA is a community of diversity, optimism, and promise. We support each other intellectually, creatively, and emotionally. We celebrate and accept our differences and are anxious to learn from one another. Someday we will again embrace our friends. We forge ahead in kinship, celebrating and advancing culture and humanity through design education and practice.
