Design is originated from the nature/environment and we understand our existence in the nature/environment by how it made to influences us in con- scious or/and unconscious manner. Its influence is based on how we under- stand, what we buy, where to go, why we act, and most of all, it shows where we are now and where we are going. Furthermore, it can be described as sus- tainable design or ephemeral design based on its function and the message. Through five senses (sight, touch, taste, smell, and sound), we acknowledge its aesthetics and functions. Also it manifests our feelings and conceptions. Simply, design is our entity.
With those characteristics, we cannot describe it as an intuitive outcome; its aesthetic is from unique theories and methodologies. It is not neither an art nor a science. But, it is cross-disciplinary ‘Art-science.’ Hence, the current in- ternational design education and research direction is based on forming a stable stand in the academia. Since design discipline has been increasing its education both master’s and Ph.D. programs worldwide and developing a strong hold in the practical business and marketing, we need more design research journals to support our discipline to formulate and unify design re- search methodology and terminology. Therefore, Design Behaviors Journal’s goal is to standardize research methodology and terminology for the design discipline.
