Melike Tascioglu Vaughan is a designer, artist, and academic with a doctorate in graphic design, working mostly on prints and books. She lives in Eskisehir, Turkey, where she teaches Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate courses as a full-time Professor at Anadolu University. She studied graphic design at Anadolu University and San Diego State University and Design and Art History at Köln University. Vaughan has published two books, one focusing on book design and the other on environmental graphic design, as well as many articles, papers, and book chapters. Her printworks have been exhibited solo and in national and international juried exhibitions, and she self-published a few artist books and a book of poetry. She is also a book designer, mainly working with international independent publishers focusing on issues of social injustice. She has worked as Department Head in the Graphic Arts Department for five years, she is a board member and secretary general of the Turkish Graphic Designers Association (GMK), and she is a Vice President of the International Council of Design (ICoD) 2022-2024.
