DR. ANANYA SINGH is an award-winning design educator, creative strategist, and researcher whose work bridges visual communication, media arts, and cultural studies. With a career spanning academia, brand consulting, and creative leadership, she has cultivated a practice grounded in innovation, empathy, and social awareness.
Early in her career, Ananya worked with leading creative firms and media organizations, including Ogilvy & Mather, where she developed expertise in brand storytelling, campaign design, and strategic communication. These experiences shaped her understanding of how research, design thinking, and cultural context can merge to create meaningful, globally resonant work.
As an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design at the University of Texas at Arlington, Ananya integrates creative research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ethical inquiry into her teaching. Her pedagogy emphasizes the role of design as both a strategic and cultural force—encouraging students to merge aesthetic excellence with social responsibility.
Ananya’s creative and scholarly work has received Gold and Silver American Advertising Awards (ADDYs, USA), an Honorable Mention at the International Design Awards (IDA, USA), recognition from the World Design Organization (WDO) for sustainable innovation, and the London Bow Arts Award for poster design.
Her research focuses on the ethical implications of AI-generated art, cultural sensitivity in media arts, and sustainability-driven innovation. She has presented at international conferences in Hawaii, Oxford, London, Singapore, and Harvard University, sharing her insights on the transformative power of design in shaping culture and communication.
