We are connected as human beings in many different ways, but the essential connection between people is utilizing communication-based visuals. Over our human history, we have created visuals to share the similarity and to differentiate the dissimilarity. Those historical artifacts became cultural icons for the particular culture, nation, and race. We, as humans, have been created visuals to decorate these artifacts, or these artifacts are the visuals. Even today’s complicated network of people, critical communication never and will not change the visuals that we understand. Hence, the Global Visual Culture Symposium (GVC Symposium) is a gathering by educators, practitioners, researchers, thinkers, and students in the communication design discipline to share our thoughts and find communication methods for our generation and beyond.
作为人类,我们用不同的方式彼此相连,但是人与人之间最基本的联系却是视觉交流。纵观人类历史,我们创造了许多视觉图形来表达我们的共同之处并区分不同之处。那些历史上流传下来的艺术品成为了某一特定文化、民族及种族的文化符号。我们人类创建了许多视觉形象来装饰这些艺术品,或者说这些艺术品本身就是视觉形象。即使在人际交流日趋复杂的今天,人与人的基本沟通从未并且也不会改变我们已知的视觉符号。本次“国际视觉文化研讨会(GVC研讨会)”是视觉传达专业背景的教育者、从业者、研究者、思想家及学生的盛会。为我们同时代的人及未来的几代人,我们分享彼此的想法,并找到沟通的方式。

Welcome to the Open of “the 3rd Global Visual Culture Symposium” This event embodies the spirit in design and turns design to appropriateness to the communication and exchange of the mind. It is also a celebration of thoughts and culture. It amplifies its communication via design and the United Designs Alliance. It is the spirit that brings the design depth of meaning, while it is the communication that makes the design abroad vision. I wish that this symposium can be a successful one, both in-depth and breadth.
给”第三届全球视觉文化研讨会”开幕式的贺辞这次的活动包含着设计的精神,让设计成为一种传达与交流精神的方式。这是一场思想和文化的盛宴,同时加强了设计和联合设计联盟(UDA)的交流。因为精神,使设计具有深度,因为传播,使设计具有视野上的广度。我祝愿这次会议,也能够在深度与广度上,取得成功。
